This is a new segment created from a box of old Hi-8 and Mini DV tapes that were given to me by Jason Koen. If you’re not familiar with Jason you’ve probably seen the footage he shot of Josh Kalis in Alien Workshop’s “Time Code” or in Josh Kalis’ Epicly Later’d. This first installment of Stanadard Def includes Jason Koen and Nick Mathis in the mid/late 90′s and early 00′s. I remember when I first moved here in 2000, I’d go with a friend of mine to downtown Dallas to find these guy’s and watch them rip anything in sight. The sheer rawness and talent of these two is impeccable. And when Jason said he had these old tapes in storage and wanted to give them to me use for our site I couldn’t believe it. There’s so much history in these tapes and I want to thank Jason for giving these to me.
